Our Philosophy
The Residential Recovery Program is divided into four levels and typically takes 12 months to complete. If you have completed residential treatment, credit for that time and effort will be applied. Each level is designed to build on the foundation of the previous level. Clients work to overcome self-destructive patterns associated with their substance use while receiving co-occurring mental health support and counseling based on need.
Each person that comes to MnTC is unique, so our approach starts with assessing each person's needs individually and then creating a plan to provide the best care possible throughout our 4-level program. We identify key topics impacting each client such as core beliefs and values, behaviors, individual life-controlling issues, mental health needs, and substance use disorder. Then, each client works with a personal care team of licensed alcohol and drug counselors, mental health professionals, recovery coaches, and chaplains based on his needs and preferences. Physical health improves through nutrition, stress reduction, sleep, and fitness; spiritual and emotional health is supported through group and individual counseling, community living, character development, spiritual; opportunities, and volunteer opportunities.
We provide person-centered treatment in a healing environment with programs and services specifically for men.

Residential Recovery Program
At MnTC we see the potential in every man and recognize substance use, destructive behaviors, and negative attitudes as symptoms of underlying and unresolved needs or issues. In our 4-level residential recovery program we meet each person where he's at, and we encourage him to take ownership of his life by demonstrating positive spiritual, mental, and emotional growth. We work with him through the different levels, each with its own therapeutic focus, life skills development, and behavioral milestones. Throughout our program, we stress the importance of spiritual development, connection to faith-based activities, character development, and creating a community of positive support and reinforcement.

Lives Changed
|
Sean's Story I walked through the doors of Mn Adult & Teen Challenge homeless, addicted and utterly without hope. After I completed the program, I was filled with love, hope, faith, and the skills to start my new life. |
Albert's Story I started using drugs to have fun and to forget about my worries. It began as a weekend, binge-using thing, but eventually, it became my whole life and I started using cocaine. There's nothing good about it and I knew it could kill me, but at the time, I didn't care. At some point I realized I was tired of being absent from my family and I was done being broke and broken. Since coming to MnTC, I've learned how to deal with my problems and worries without drugs. And now that I'm not using, I'm there for my kids when they need me...I'm the Dad they deserve. |
