About

In order to provide quality driver instruction in the Grand Rapids, Minnesota area Right Way Driving School was established in 1992 and was Incorporated in 2012.

Our Mission at Right Way Driving is to help make potential drivers technically sound and fundamentally skilled.  We feel it is imperative to develop responsible, courteous, patient and safe drivers while incorporating defensive driving awareness.  We strive to bring students to a complete understanding of the rules of the road, the various laws and all that the student will be exposed to during their driving years.  We tailor our teaching to the individual's ability level and personal experience while building the student's confidence.  We also encourage new drivers to develop a positive working relationship with parents and other supervising drivers, and to become lifetime learners concerning various driving situations.  We truly dedicate our lives and skills to the students we work for and with. We emphasize driving the 'Right Way'.

Our Instructors have a combined 50+ years of teaching at Right Way Driving and we are committed to our profession. Our curriculum is approved by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety and is presented in a way to help students become responsible, well informed and skilled drivers.

Services

In-Person Classroom Diver's Education

Incoming students under age 18 coming into our driver’s training program must complete 30 hours of classroom time to be eligible to take the written/knowledge test. Anyone scheduling classroom must pay for the first hour of behind the wheel at the time they register for classroom. Upon successfully passing the written test, students will be able to obtain the learners permit.

Grand Rapids Classroom $146.00

Off-Site Classroom (Offered at pre-determined local Schools) $146.00

Students MUST be at least 14 1/2 years old to attend classroom; however students cannot take their permit test until they are 15 years old

Online Classroom Driver's Education

Right way is now offering an online, independent study course that fits the schedule of students who are looking for an alternative to in-person learning. Our 30 hour self-study course has been developed for students with an active life style, and can be taken when students are able to begin and complete the various sections of the program.

This course is designed to help students navigate through all aspects of the driving experience in Minnesota and beyond. We have put this course together with the same passion our instructors have while teaching our in-person classroom course. There will be a variety of teaching/learning methods used that allow student to get the full experience as if they were actually in the classroom.

We are dedicated to helping all of our students to become safe, responsible and educated drivers while enjoying the driving experience. Our course has been approved by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety and will satisfy the requirements needed for taking the written test and obtaining the learners permit.

30 Hours at the Students Pace

A maximum of 3 hours can be completed per day keeping in mind this is in line with the student’s individual preferences. For example, if the student were to complete 3 hours of the course for 10 separate days consecutively, that would mean the student would then be eligible to receive a letter of completion in as little as 10 days that would allow the student to take the written exam through the State of Minnesota. This would be an accelerated example. However, if the student were to move forward through the program at a slower pace, they must complete the course within 6 months. They would, at that time, receive a letter of completion allowing them to take the written exam.

30 Hour Online Course $100
