Aitkin, Carlton, Cook, Itasca, Lake, Koochiching, and St. Louis Counties.
Program Description:
If you have received a layoff notice, are unemployed or underemployed, please reach out to our Employment & Training Department to determine if you are eligible for the program. We offer services such as Career and Skills Assessments and Personalized Job Search Assistance. If you are considering training, we may be able to help with tuition and other training related expenses and support services. Our services are designed to meet your individual needs. Eligibility:
- Be eligible to work in the United States, and
- Be a resident of Minnesota, or working in Minnesota, at the time employment ended, [1] and
- Meet at least one of the following DW categories:
- Is part of an Individual or Small Group Layoff
- Is part of a Permanent Closure or Mass Layoff
- Was Self Employed, but now unemployed
- Is a Displaced Homemaker
- Is a Separating or Separated Member of the U.S Armed Forces (Including National Guard and Reserves)
- Is Long-Term unemployed
- Is a Military Spouse
- Has a Non-Work-Related Injury or Illness
- Is an Adult who is Low-income, a recipient of Public Assistance or is Basic Skills Deficient
