Mediation is an alternative to going to court. This program connects those seeking conflict resolution services to local mediation service providers. Services are provided on a sliding fee basis and no one is turned away for an inability to pay. Mediation can help resolve conflicts between neighbors, landlords and tenants, family relationships, parenting time, workplace issues, etc.

Provides free or reduced cost legal consultation and representation for civil matters to income eligible persons including divorce, orders of protection/harassment orders, evictions, public benefits, social security (not for application process), custody, DHS background study issues, consumer problems, contract disputes, home repair disputes and warranty enforcement. Also provides legal education for seniors, including advance directives for health care, consumer rip-offs, Medical Assistance rules for persons in nursing homes, and advanced legal planning. Does not service individuals with personal injury, bankruptcy, criminal or small business issues.

Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV)

Offers transitional housing and permanent supportive housing for homeless Veterans. The program is designed to provide Veterans with holistic, housing-related assistance. Veteran employment and training services help Veterans prepare for their employment search, including resume building and job skill development, and connecting Veterans with full-time, living-wage jobs. The Vetlaw program offers free Veteran legal aid and resources for all Minnesota Veterans. Our legal services include representation, community legal clinics, referrals, and phone services regarding Minnesota law.
