Before you start applying for jobs, you need to develop a good set of job search tools to market yourself to employers. These tools include resumes, cover letters, interview preparation notes, examples of your work and other materials. These materials need to be organized, ready to be shared, accurate, error-free and attractive to potential employers. Learn How Your Skills Apply to Other CareersThis tool helps you compare the skills required for your current or prior career to other careers. Enter your current or last career to find careers that use those skills, and see how your skills compare to in-demand, best skills match and a career of interest.

Interest AssessmentKnowing what interests you can help you find the right career path for you. The Interest Assessment will show you which occupations match the interest categories you score strongest in. Indicate how much you like performing each of the 60 activities listed in the Interest Assessment, selecting descriptions for how much you like each activity from strongly dislike to strongly like. Skill MatcherKnowing where you currently have strong skills can help you find good career path options for you and it can help you identify where you need to grow skills if you are changing career paths. Select the skill level that best matches your current skills for each of the 40 skill areas in the skills matcher. Think about whether you have successfully done any of the example activities, or similar activities, for each of the 40 areas. If your level of skill is between the beginner example and the skilled example, select basic. If your level of skill is between the skilled example and the expert example, select advanced.
