The State Legislature created the office of the County Recorder as a place for all land transactions and for all recoverable property transactions within the county to be kept of record for public knowledge.  Other functions include the keeping of records of local governmental units and military discharges.  New functions are assigned to the office by the State Legislature and/or the Beltrami County Board. Current fees can be found here. If a deed is emailed/mailed/faxed, there is an additional fee of $5.00.

NOTE REGARDING PROPERTY DEEDS: A land owner should NOT have to pay a large fee to a company for a copy of a recorded deed. Land owners can receive a copy of their recorded deed for $1.00 by visiting or calling the Recorder's Office.
