At Wayside, we understand that taking the first step can feel overwhelming. Our caring team will guide you through the process, from your initial evaluation to finding the program that's right for you.
What to Expect on Arrival:

FAQs
Can I bring my partner or other family members to residential treatment?
No, partners and adult family members cannot stay. Dependent children (ages birth-11) can stay with moms at the Family Treatment Center. Other family members are welcome to visit during visiting hours.
Can residents smoke or vape at Wayside?
Yes, smoking is allowed outdoors during designated times at Family Treatment Center. Smoking and vaping is allowed outdoors at designated times at Women's Treatment Center.
Can I enter treatment if I'm on methadone or suboxone?
Yes! We accept all forms of Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT). We will provide access to MAT services.
What if I decide to leave treatment?
You have a right to end treatment at any time; however, we do strongly request that you inform your counselor of your decision. You will be asked about the reason for your decision to terminate services and we may ask you to provide some closure to your treatment. During this discussion, appropriate referrals can be made.
Can I bring my children if I have involvement with CPS?
Yes, you can enter treatment immediately. Wayside staff will work with CPS to gain court approval for your children to join you.
What does a typical day look like at Wayside?
Here's an example schedule:
- 7:30-8 AM: House responsibilities, MAT transportation, or child care drop-off
- 8:30-11:30 AM: Educational/therapeutic groups
- 11:45 AM: Lunch (dietary needs accommodated)
- 12:30-1 PM: Counselor office hours for scheduling help
- 1-5 PM: Groups and one-on-one counseling
- 5-6 PM: Dinner
- 6:30-8:30 PM: Evening group meetings
Can I get a comprehensive assessment at Wayside?

Can my children or loved ones visit me in treatment?
Yes, visitors are welcome during designated visiting hours.
Do I need a referral to enter treatment?
No referral is required. We accept clients directly or through referrals from healthcare providers and agencies.
What items are restricted in residential treatment?
Restricted items include:
- Hand sanitizer or products containing alcohol
- Drugs, alcohol, or paraphernalia
- Hemp products
- Candles and scented items (perfume, lotions, etc.)
Note: Wayside is a scent-free facility.
Do you provide transportation to residential treatment?
Yes, transportation is available. Call our intake team at (651) 242-5540 to arrange it.
