ABOUT MISSIONS, INC.

Missions Inc. is a nonprofit organization with a proud history of more than a century of service. We are located at three sites in Plymouth, St. Paul and Columbia Heights, MN, providing chemical healthdomestic violence and long-term care services through seven programs, serving over 3,000 people each year.

Our main campus is located on the north shore of Medicine Lake in Plymouth, MN, offering a natural environment in which to pause, heal and gain strength for a new beginning.

We are supported through grants and contracts for service with local municipalities, counties, the state, and the federal government, and through the generous contributions of hundreds of businesses, churches, organizations, and individuals in our community.

Our staff of nearly 200 full-time and part-time employees provides services with respect and compassion, as advocates for the people we serve. We are assisted by several hundred volunteers, whose invaluable contributions range from a special one-day event for the children at our battered women shelter to working every day alongside staff providing essential services.

We are governed by a 15-member Board of Directors, whose wide range of expertise guides and supports the organization. Our management team provides leadership from a wealth of experience in our primary service areas.

Our residents are doing the hardest and most important work of all, bravely facing the challenges that lie ahead, taking control of their lives and finding hope in the future.

Our Services

Missions Inc. Programs provides behavioral health, chemical health, and domestic violence services to people experiencing homelessness, chemical addiction, and violence.

Through eight human services programs, the organization assists over 3,000 people annually using evidence-based programming from a person-first perspective. It is our goal to provide people with the opportunity to discover new ways of living that will sustain them when they leave our programs.

Domestic violence is a social crisis that damages and destroys individuals, families and communities. Individuals experiencing violence are not safe in their own homes and are frequently isolated from extended family members and friends. Children in families where abuse is present lack the benefits of a secure and nurturing home environment. Communities that do not understand the dynamics of domestic violence are often unresponsive when domestic assaults occur. Missions Inc. Programs provides immediate safety for survivors/victims of domestic violence through its two Home Free programs.

Substance use disorder has grown to be one of the number one problems in the United States, according to the Department of Health Education and Welfare. Missions Inc. provides housing and supportive services to people of all genders experiencing addiction, chronic substance use disorder. Missions inc. provides withdrawal management to adults and adolescents over the age of 13 who are experiencing intoxication and/or withdrawal. All services are provided to eligible residents and clients regardless of ability to pay.

Missions Inc. provides short-term and long-term care for men experiencing a variety of physical and behavioral health issues at its skilled nursing home, the only facility in Minnesota that exclusively serves men.
