Children And Family Services
Cook County Human Services has a positive impact on Cook County children and families’ lives every day by assessing safety, providing intervention and securing stability. We are dedicated to supporting the health, safety, and well-being of our community.
We work with our Federal and State partners implementing their initiatives to provide stability for children. This means providing services that will strengthen and assist families in solving their problems in the least restrictive environment possible, preferably within their own home and community.
Intake
All requests for county assistance or services start with a call to an Intake Social Worker. Call us at 218-387-3620 and ask to speak to an intake worker. The intake worker will ask you questions about how you or the person you are concerned are doing including:
- Is this an emergency? Do you need help right now?
- What symptoms or behaviors are you concerned about?
- What has helped in the past?
