What is supportive housing?
Many of Beacon’s properties are considered “supportive housing.”
Supportive housing offers residents access to onsite services and professionals who help them with everything from mental health and career planning to financial literacy and parenting.
Paired with rent subsidies, affordable supportive housing brings relief and flexibility to residents’ budgets and lives.
Supportive housing services are tailored to the needs of each individual and family, whether they want to focus on finding a job, advancing education, connecting with the community, improving health, or all the above.
No matter the focus, supportive housing offers residents trusted, onsite advocates to work in partnership as they set goals and map a plan for success.
Preventing homelessness in Minnesota through supportive housing
Going to bed each night in a safe, comfortable, affordable home offers a sense of dignity and stability that allows individuals and families to live their best lives. We believe that’s something all people deserve.
The stability provided by Beacon’s over 700 affordable homes, some with on-site supportive services, makes a world of difference by offering a crucial first step toward improvements in health, education, employment opportunities, and overall well-being.
