  • Single Family Rehabilitation-Offers many loan programs to help improve the condition of an existing home.
  • Energy Assistance-Emergency funds may be available for monthly heating bills, along with assisting with energy related repairs. Additional funds are available for crisis situations.

Community Education

Many affordable health and wellness classes are offered through the Two Harbors and Silver Bay Community Education programs in various communities throughout Lake County.

  • Early Childhood Family Education-ECFE is a program for parents with children ages birth to pre-kindergarten five. Families participate in activities to build social, cognitive and motor skills. Parent education is provided through lively and informative discussions about everyday life as a parent. Registration is required for mixed age session.   • Early Childhood Screening-Quick and simple check of how children are doing between the ages of 3 to 4 years. It identifies, at an early stage, possible learning or health concerns so that children can get needed help before starting school.   • Little Mariner and Little Agates Preschool is available for children ages 3- 5 years old. The goal in preschool is to instill a love of learning, build skills for kindergarten and to have FUN! A visit will include weighing your baby, assessing your baby from head to toe, and providing information on sleep habits, feeding your baby, infant cues, playing with your baby, general baby care and immunizations and community resources.
  • Women, Infants and Children (WIC)-Provides supplemental food and nutrition education to eligible pregnant or breastfeeding women and children under age 5.
  • Child Support-Assistance in locating parents, establishing parentage, establishing court orders for child support, medical support, and child care support, reviewing and modifying court orders for child support, medical support and child care support, adjusting court orders based on cost-of-living, enforcing court orders, collecting and processing payments. Medical Borrowing Closet

Cooperative Light and Power has partnered with local Girl Scout Troop 4251 to offer a community medical borrowing closet. Some items available include wheelchairs, commodes, shower chairs, crutches, knee scooters, walkers and canes. Community members can check out the items needed and return them when done. These items are available for short-term use. Simply use it, clean it, and return so the item is available for the next person that needs it.
