Our Story

Our story begins in 1998 when U.S. Congresswomen Linda Smith traveled into the heart of the brothel district in Mumbai, India where she witnessed the brutal exploitation and sexual slavery of women and children. She established Shared Hope International to rescue and restore women and children enslaved in sex trafficking.

Shared Hope International pledges good stewardship of every donation. We are audited on an annual basis by an independent CPA firm and have received a clean opinion each year. In addition, we are members of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA) and have met their standards consistently.
