YouthBuild is a community-based pre-apprenticeship program that provides job training and educational opportunities for at-risk youth ages 16-24 who have previously dropped out of high school or at risk of dropping out of high school.

Youth learn vocational skills in construction. Construction projects focus on low-income housing and non-profit organizations.

Youth receive construction and carpentry skills while working toward their GED or high school diploma. Construction training is in a classroom setting and work sites. All youth are offered CPR certification, OSHA certification, and NCCER training. Youth work on a myriad of projects ranging from demolition and renovation, to new construction.

Each youth participant is provided workplace skills via a paid work experience. Our construction projects provide skills in the following areas: Reading a tape measure, Using handheld and power tools, Estimating project needs, Painting/Staining, Installing cabinets, Sheetrock and mudding, Demolition, Installing banisters and stairs, Concrete work, Installing flooring, Window installation, Roofing, Framing Garden beds, Picnic tables.
