Who We Are
Our History
North Homes Children and Family Services (NHCFS) is a private, non-profit agency that provides comprehensive behavioral health services to children, adults, and families.
Jim Christmas, Founder and CEO, noticed a gap in services for youth in the northland while working in social services in the 1980's. It was his vision to start an organization that would support keeping families together and youth connected to their community.
Since our founding in 1990, we've grown from one residential group home in Grand Rapids to offering numerous programs throughout Minnesota.
Our Mission
Providing a community-based continuum of compassionate care to children and families
To us, this means offering multiple programs that support the mental-health needs of clients – all within one
organization.
As a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC), we offer integrated mental health and substance use disorder services, as well as a range of other services. Our clinics and services provide outreach, increase access, improve services and serve as a “one-stop-shop” to a wide range of community members.
By building on the strengths of each individual, we are able to help keep families together and people connected to their communities.
